Shontaye Glover, M.S., CCC-SLP
Hello! I am Shontaye. I am a proud alumnus of Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD (Go Bears!) and received my masters of science degree in communication disorders from William Paterson University in my home state of New Jersey. I am ASHA-certified (since 2002) and licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York.
My career as a speech therapist began in the hospital setting working with adults and children experiencing communication and swallowing/feeding challenges. Since that time, I have become a wife and mother to two beautiful daughters and transitioned into the public school and private practice settings. My experience includes assessment and treatment of children and adults with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, cognitive deficits, neurological impairments, genetic syndromes, auditory impairments, social communication disorders, as well as motor speech disorders.
I believe that learning should be fun and that play is a child's work. It is my responsibility to reach the child and meet them where they are. If a child is not grasping a new skill, I am committed to changing my approach until they understand. I am passionate about developing strong foundations at an early age to help children develop lifelong skills. This includes, but is not limited to, communication skills, play skills, and self-help skills. I believe children perform best when they feel safe and encouraged. My clients always know that I care and have their best interest at heart. I strive to bring a nurturing and caring disposition to every child I encounter and I am grateful to every parent who entrusts their child to my care.
In my free time, I enjoy running, reading, listening to music, spending time with my family, and getting away to the beach.
