- About | Having Our Say
I wanted to create a space to empower parents and caregivers with tools to help their children. Working with children is my passion. About Having Our Say Meet Shontaye Having Our Say is a private practice providing assessments and intervention services for children. I provide home-based services to families, which is convenient and allows children to practice skills and learn in their natural environment. I cannot be everywhere so I wanted to also create a virtual space to empower parents and caregivers with tools to help their children. Working with children is my passion and making changes in their lives brings me joy! I am a proud alumnus of Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD (Go Bears!) and received my Masters of Science degree in Communication Disorders from William Paterson University in my home state of New Jersey. My career as an SLP began in a hospital setting, where I worked with adults and children. Since that time, I have become a wife and mother to two beautiful daughters and transitioned into the public school and private practice settings. My experience includes assessment and treatment of children and adults with various diagnoses and disorders. I am ASHA-certified (since 2002) and licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York. Over the years, I have treated wonderful adults, but my joy is working with children and their families. My practice was birthed from that passion. With this site I hope to extend my reach and provide tips to parents and caregivers to help their children’s language skills develop, grow, and thrive! My hope is that Having Our Say becomes a place where parents can come to gain information as well as a place to ask questions and have their say too.

Shontaye Glover, M.S., CCC-SLP, speech & language therapist. My experience includes assessment and treatment of children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, TBI, cerebral palsy, cognitive deficits, genetic syndromes, auditory impairments, social communication disorders, and motor speech disorders. Meet Shontaye CONTACT SHONTAYE Shontaye Glover Jones MS, CCC-SLP Hey, I'm Shontaye! Years ago I realized there was a gap between what the experts know and what parents need to know. A post on my social media page about the benefits of play uncovered that many parents and caregivers didn't realize how they could help enhance their children's language development. "Having Our Say" was birthed from that post. I set myself on a mission to close that gap one blog post at a time. Since then, Having Our Say has evolved into much more, but never forgetting my commitment to educating families. In addition to providing culturally responsive and effective intervention, I am also extremely passionate and intentional about using books and materials that are inclusive and represent every child. Every child deserves to feel represented and seen. My commitment to increasing diversity in children's literature led to my own picture books - Liam’s First Cut and The Season of Yes! . For more information about my work as an author, visit: www.tayejones.com Learning should be fun and play is a child's work! I am passionate about developing strong foundations at an early age to help children develop lifelong skills. My clients always know that I care and have their best interest at heart. I strive to bring a nurturing and neuroaffirming practices to every child I encounter. I am a proud alumnus of Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD and received my masters of science degree in communication disorders from William Paterson University in New Jersey. When I'm not working, I enjoy trying new foods, listening to music, and relaxing on the beach with my family. Follow me on Instagram

From the beginning, Shontaye's communication style, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines was very much appreciated. Shontaye currently has approximately 20,000 people enrolled in her SLP Summit course, who on average have about 65 students on their caseloads.
